Archive of Names on InSight
The Robinson Family Aerospace Mission has been hosting the #WhosHeadingtoMars Series to generate excitement for the landing of the InSight Mars Lander. In hosting this series, we have shared a few names that are aboard InSight through the “WhosHeadingtoMars”hashtag.
With InSight landing on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, we would like to introduce a new archive of names featured on the mission.
In 2015, NASA provided the public with the opportunity to send names aboard a silica microchip attached to the mission. In light of InSight being the sistership to the Phoenix Mars Lander, we took the opportunity to create another archive of names which would touch the surface of Mars. Thus, we submitted countless names of aviators, musicians, artists, and more to InSight, creating another historical collection of names to be sent to the Red Planet.
